At Down Home Meats we create our sausage the same way it was made 100 years ago. We cook our sausages at 164 - 170 degrees using real hickory hardwood, giving our sausages a natural hickory smoked flavor. Our recipe is simple and one-of-a kind: we stuff our sausage with quality ingredients, then smoke it to perfection to give you a fully-cooked hickory smoked sausage that's bursting with flavor.
Our sausages contain only four main ingredients: pork shoulder, rib trimmings, pork loin and pork ham. We place these ingredients in natural casings that allow our sausages to soak up the smoke flavor during the cooking process. Fully cooked and packaged at our location in Stonewall, LA, you can enjoy our sausages straight out of the package, microwaved, or grilled.
